Who is responsible
The data controller is Janice Chen, owner of the heyjaniz brand, based in Ecuador. To ask a question or exercise your rights, email janicechen31997@hotmail.com.
Data we collect
- Contact: name, email, optional company, area of interest and message.
- Waitlist: email and product of interest.
- Purchases: transaction identifiers, product, amount, currency, payment status, name and email supplied by PayPal.
- Site usage: Google Analytics may collect technical and browsing data such as pages visited, device, browser and approximate location.
- Downloads: download token, expiry date and download count.
How we use data
- Answer enquiries and service requests.
- Manage waitlists and send the requested launch notice.
- Process payments, verify purchases, deliver products and provide support.
- Prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorized access.
- Meet accounting, tax and legal obligations.
- Understand and improve the site through aggregated statistics.
Legal bases
Contact and waitlist data is processed with your consent. Purchase and delivery data is processed to perform our contract with you. Some records are retained to meet legal duties or handle legitimate claims. Analytics is used with consent where applicable law requires it.
Providers and transfers
- Netlify: site hosting and delivery.
- Supabase: forms, order records and downloadable file storage.
- PayPal: payment processing. heyjaniz does not store full card numbers.
- Resend: transactional and form-related email.
- Google Analytics: site usage measurement.
Retention
We keep enquiries as long as needed to answer and follow up. Waitlist data is kept until you withdraw consent or the notice is no longer needed. Purchase records are retained for applicable accounting, tax and consumer-protection periods. Download tokens expire as stated at checkout, although transaction records may be retained where legally required.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site may use necessary technical cookies or identifiers and Google Analytics cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser. PayPal components may use their own technologies when checkout begins.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, objection, portability, restriction or suspension of processing, and withdraw consent. Email janicechen31997@hotmail.com. You may also complain to Ecuador’s data protection authority.
Security and changes
We use reasonable safeguards and limit access to those who need it. No system is completely secure.
